Creating—The Haiku Way of Seeing... In Times Like These

  • “The day is coming when a single carrot, freshly observed, will set off a revolution.” —Paul Cezanne A fun evening doing some haiku mindfulness work and playing a haiku game called Renga, to experiment with seeing with a clear eye, with unclouded vision, with all of our senses. Led by Jeannie Martin. Jeannie Martin, MSW, MTS, E.D., United Methodist Deaconess, has taught haiku in prison, senior centers, nursing homes and community programs as a way to encourage a sense of reverence for all. She has published several books of haiku, which she considers to be “an avenue to seeing and experiencing God’s creation with heightened awareness and meaning.” 7-9:30 p.m. Turtle Rock Farm in Town 1000 NW 32nd Street, in the CommonWealth Urban Farm community, Oklahoma City.
